Sparrow’s Song

About falling in love, it sometimes feels like a hammer, sometimes it is more like a Sparrow’s Song.

Wandering aimlessly her soul is lost
in a fog.
Seeking shelter from harsh winds,
the sparrow cries.
Lay to rest her head within the open cage,
she finds.
The sparrow lets the night wash over her body’s soul
without fight.

Trapped the sparrow sings, a song of longing,
Cold be the metal below her feet.
Tears fall from blind eyes, let no one see me cry,
Her heart prays in the deep.
No one see me, hear me, feel me, let this be true,
She cries from her sleep.
Faltering, the heart beat slows and her mind slips to dark
Wither will, the sparrow in her solid keep.

The wind reaches his span over many a lands,
Rage destroys his mind.
Paths between stones, his heart weaps alone
What does he aim to find?
Mildly cold, playfully sore, without one to hold
The warm wind dies.
Every time, everything slips away from him
Now he lives with no light.

Trapped the sparrow sings, a song of longing,
Cold be the metal below her feet.
Tears fall from blind eyes, let no one see me cry,
Her heart prays in the deep.
No one see me, hear me, feel me, let this be true,
She cries from her sleep.
Faltering, the heartbeat slows and her mind slips to dark
Wither will, the sparrow in her solid keep.

Catch the warm wind a humbling scent,
drives him insane.
Slip through the bars, shatter the lock
Where fear is lain.
The wind wraps his breath around her wings
Lift her from the pain.
Climbing up her body, teasing her every touch,
Her breath he claims.

With the wind, she escapes this keep.

Her breath now one with his air,
The sparrow and the wind now share.
Escape the hell, that trapped her body,
The bird and breath and nobody.
Slip through the bars, the night once cold,
Feel the heat of love, from the heart it’s pulled.
